I would definitely not recommend using Blanding, or if you use Blanding, have someone else check their work.
First, we'll start with the timeline- it was supposed to take 2-3 days but took 2 weeks. The electricians left a mess in my 1.5 yr. old and 3 yr. old rooms, including leaving wiring and piles of materials. They replaced the electrical service, but left the breaker box open with only some circuits reconnected and nothing labeled. They told my wife while they were working on the project that the project manager under-bid the project and it was much more complex than the PM quoted. After 3 partial days of work, I got a call from the PM saying that the electrician had quit (or was fired) and they would try to get someone out to finish the work. None of the work was complete at this point. I told the PM that we had friends (with more small children) coming the next weekend and the work needed to be wrapped up. On Friday (the day our friends were arriving, 2 weeks after the job was started) they showed up at noon to wrap up the work.
Matt and his team of electrician are by far the best contactor in the tri city's I know first hand being and employee and a customer. Trust is something and can not BS about I would say there is no other contactor better the Blanding Electric and local 325.
Tenant was having trouble with the electric in his bedroom, blanding came out and realized they didn't check a hidden breaker in the attic. Electrician flicked the switch and was there for less than 10 minutes and was billed $135. I own multiple rental properties in Binghamton and will not be using Blanding again. I'm all for paying a fair price but that was excessive.
I hired Blanding to install 5 ceiling fans and do a service upgrade on the house we just purchased and I'm embarrassed by the work that was completed.

Now, the quality of workmanship. There were a couple of things that were obvious- the new meter was mounted crooked on the house, they put white caulk around the meter that looked like a 1 yr. old applied it, the new electric panel wasn't mounted flush and was missing screws. There were a bunch of things that weren't obvious and were found by the next electrician who did work for us- Blanding didn't secure the cable going into the meter from the pole connection, the new electrical panel wasn't attached to the wall, and NONE of the connections inside the new panel box were tightened. My wife and I thought it was odd that the lights flickered when something big kicked in (AC, oven, etc.); it was from the loose connections in the electrical panel. We also learned that the electrical inspector they hired to "inspect" our service upgrade has been banned from doing inspections in some local towns.
